Races are a core system in the game. Each race gives the player unique passives and buffs, affecting gameplay in different ways.

Obtainment

  • A race is randomly assigned when a player first joins the game. When the playthrough begins, one of the following random starter races is assigned to the player:

Starter Races

  • Human (62.5%)

  • Rabbit (12.5%)

  • Shark (12.5%)

  • Angel (12.5%)

Other Races

Apart from the above, players can also get the following races by completing the respective puzzles in Blox Fruits:

  • Cyborg → Obtained by completing the Cyborg puzzle

  • Ghoul → Bought from the Experimic for 100 Ectoplasm + Hellfire Torch

  • Draco → Obtained through the Dragon Wizard quest

Changing Race

Players who aren't satisfied with their current race can reroll it using any of the following methods. However, note that rerolling a race will only get a starter race.

  • Paying 3,000 to tort (not available in First Sea)

  • Buying a Race Re-roll for 90 in the in-game shop.

  • Buying a Race Re-roll from Event Shops. (Christmas, Halloween, Valentine events)

Special Race Switching

  • Ghoul, Cyborg, and Draco cannot be obtained through rerolls

  • After unlocking them once, they can be switched back via NPCs:

    • Experimic → Ghoul (free)

    • Dragon Wizard → Draco (free)

    • Secret NPC → Cyborg ( 2,500 per switch)

Race Versions

Version 1

The base race state provides initial passive abilities and serves as the foundation for all future upgrades.

  • Every player starts with a default race (V1) that grants a basic passive effect to its user.

  • It acts as the prerequisite stage for unlocking V2, V3, and V4

  • Higher versions progressively add stronger passives and active abilities

  • V2 and V3 are unlocked in the Second Sea, while V4 is in the Third Sea

Additional Information

  • Unlocking the Dark Blade Slayer Skin requires V3 on all starter races (Human, Rabbit, Shark, Angel); Ghoul, Cyborg, and Draco are excluded since they are not starter races

  • V3 quest progress resets if you leave the game, but dying does not reset progress, allowing retries within the same session

  • Ghoul, Cyborg, and Draco cannot be obtained through rerolls or normal spawning; they are only unlocked through specific questlines

  • After unlocking them once, Ghoul and Draco can be switched back for free via Experimic and Dragon Wizard, while Cyborg requires 2,500 to switch back
