Cyborg

The Cyborg race is one of the few quest-obtained races and specializes in close-range combat, defense, and Instinct disruption. Its abilities are designed to pressure opponents with AoE damage, break Instinct, and make combos more consistent, making it especially effective against team fights and grouped enemies. While it performs well for grinding and countering multiple opponents, its V3 has limited range and its V4 is generally less effective in 1v1s compared to other races.

Steps
1
Description
  • To unlock the Cyborg race, players will first need a Fist of Darkness. This item goes inside the Secret Laboratory in Hot and Cold Island, Second Sea.

  • You need to step inside the dark blue tube in the Secret Laboratory, hold out the Fist of Darkness, and press the green button outside the tube to proceed.

    • A message saying "Your <Fist of Darkness> has been processed. Please supply a <Core Brain> to continue." will pop up on the screen when the Fist of Darkness is used.

Image
Steps
2
Description
  • This step includes finding a Core Brain, which can be obtained after beating the Order Raid boss with a 5% chance.

    • Spawning the Order Raid boss will require the player to buy a Microchip from Arlthemetic.

    • Fist of Darkness can not be used in the Secret Laboratory's machine if the player has a Microchip in their inventory. Make sure to get the Microchip after you use the Fist of Darkness in the first step.

    • Players can also join someone else's Order Raid to get the Core Brain. They don't necessarily have to be the raid's host to get this item.

Steps
3
Description
  • In the final step, the players need to put the Core Brain inside the tube, where an Order Raid gets initiated.

  • Step inside the dark blue tube, hold out the Core Brain, and press the green button to complete this part.

  • Using the Core Brain will open a door that leads to a secret chamber.

  • Players can use the ladder and go down inside this chamber to find an NPC that sells the Cyborg race for 2500 Fragments.

Strengths & Weaknesses

A quick breakdown of where this build shines and struggles.

Strengths

General

  • One of the best races for grinding.

  • Strong durability, especially with Energy Core.

  • Excels against multiple opponents and teamers.

  • All abilities from V3+ provide offensive value.

  • V2 passive provides near-unlimited Energy, making it excellent with energy-hungry fruits like Phoenix.

Energy Core (V3)

  • Easy to unlock and highly effective.

  • Adds free bonus damage to every combo.

  • Great for both one-shot and extended combos.

  • Breaks Instinct.

  • Provides decent damage and defense.

  • Interrupts channeling skills such as Dough V and Rubber C.

  • Useful for grinding and finishing enemies to gain mastery, as its damage scales with Level, not Stats.

Energy Control (V4)

  • Excellent mobility, especially with the Skull Guitar M1 movement tech.

  • Damages nearby enemies while moving, making it strong for grinding and PvP.

  • Extremely effective against teamers or when NPCs are nearby.

  • Orbs can break Instinct without precise aim.

  • Performs best with tick-damage builds.

  • Can deal massive damage by combining Portal [C] with nearby enemies and AoE attacks.

Aftershock (V4)

  • Applies electrified status without first breaking Instinct.

  • Continuously drains enemy Instinct dodges.

Weaknesses

General

  • No movement speed buffs.

  • No defense against Blox Fruit damage.

  • Difficult and expensive to unlock, requiring a Fist of Darkness and a lengthy puzzle.

  • V2 Energy passive has limited impact in most builds.

  • V4 gears cannot damage large objects.

Energy Core (V3)

  • Easily avoided by keeping distance.

  • Requires close range to break Instinct.

Energy Control (V4)

  • Air mobility is limited and relies on solid ground for maximum movement.

Aftershock (V4)

  • Does not break Instinct on its own.

  • Some attacks can bypass or ignore the electrified effect (e.g., Godhuman [C] (Held)).

  • Significantly less effective against Human – Psycho (Tier 2) and Unbreakable enchantment.

Verdict

An outstanding all-round race for grinding and PvP, combining strong offense, durability, and crowd control. While it lacks mobility buffs and is difficult to obtain, its utility against teamers and excellent combo support make it one of the strongest endgame race choices.
