Bosses

Bosses are powerful enemies that are significantly stronger than regular NPCs. They reward players with higher EXP, Money, Bounty/Honor, and valuable drops such as Swords, Guns, Accessories, and Materials.

Unlike normal enemies, bosses can use special abilities in addition to their basic attacks. They also ignore player immunities, including Elemental Immunity and Blade's passive immunity.

Additional Information

  • Bosses have much longer respawn times than regular enemies.

  • Players cannot earn Bounty/Honor from bosses after reaching 2.5 Million Bounty/Honor.

  • If a boss has already been defeated, players can visit its spawn location to view the remaining respawn timer.

  • There are currently 34 Bosses in the game.

  • Most older bosses use the legacy versions of their respective Swords or Blox Fruits.

    • For example, Stone uses the old Bomb Fruit moveset.

  • Notable exceptions include:

    • Don Swan, who uses the modern Spider Fruit moveset.

    • Hydra Leader, who uses the first two moves of the Venom Fruit.

  • There are currently no regular bosses that use Beast Fruits.

  • Longma was previously the only boss that could not be detected with Instinct, but this was changed in Update 20.

  • The average respawn time for most bosses is 20–45 minutes, excluding Raid Bosses.

  • Boss Distribution:

    • First Sea: 16 Bosses

    • Second Sea: 8 Bosses

    • Third Sea: 10 Bosses (4 of which are quest-exclusive.)

  • Completing all boss quests rewards approximately:

    • First Sea: $165,000

    • Second Sea: $170,000

    • Third Sea: $247,500

    • (Values are without the 2× Money gamepass.)

  • During the Pain Event, affected bosses can be identified by a red cloud hovering above them.

    • After being defeated, they respawn as Tormented Bosses.

    • Tormented Bosses use the Pain Fruit, have their level displayed as ????, and possess 200,000 HP.

  • Following a minor update after Update 29.1, both Bosses and Raid Bosses display a respawn timer after being defeated, showing exactly how long it will take for them to respawn.
