Bazooka
Bazooka is a Legendary gun and the only Legendary gun you can get in the First Sea: a rocket launcher dropped by the Sky Warlord (formerly Wysper) in the Upper Skylands. For a First Sea gun it hits hard, with explosive moves that reach a good distance.
The cost is in the details: Z and X need 100 and 250 mastery, the rocket is slow with a 3 s cooldown, and the upgrade needs a Mythical Dark Fragment plus Dragon Scales from the Third Sea.

What moves does Bazooka have?
Open Moves for what each key does with a clip, Stats for mastery, cooldown and energy, and Break for Instinct. M1 is the normal attack.
Instinct is the dodge ability. A move that breaks it hits through the dodge.
Bazooka moves, mastery and Instinct
Shoots a rocket that explodes in an area on impact. It damages Sea Beasts, Ship Raids and the Leviathan, and the rocket is slow, so a moving target can dodge it.
Fires a flaming orange beam toward your cursor that damages targets and knocks them back. It leaves a burning trail and, if it hits a surface, flames at the end of the beam that last longer than the trail.
Launches five missiles toward your cursor. Each one seeks a target inside its range, though the aim is not guaranteed, and explodes in an area, leaving flames if it goes off near a surface.

How do you get the Bazooka?
The Bazooka is a boss drop: there is no shop and no recipe, only a 10% chance each time the Sky Warlord is defeated.
Bazooka drop steps
Take the quest from Mole (Lv. 500, 15,000 Beli and 5,700,000 EXP). His dialogue still lists the quest under the old name Wysper.

Defeat the Sky Warlord. He is a Lv. 500 boss with 17,500 HP that respawns every 10 minutes, and he fires the Bazooka's own rocket, Heat Wave and Flaring Missiles at you. Each defeat has a 10% chance to drop the Bazooka, so expect to wait for the respawn and try again.

How do you upgrade the Bazooka, and what does it give?
Take the materials to a Blacksmith. A weapon can only be upgraded once, and you must upgrade it before you can enchant it. The Dark Fragment is a Mythical material, and the Bazooka, Skull Guitar and Dragonstorm are the only guns that need one to upgrade. Full details are in the Upgrading guide.

The Blacksmith screen: the upgrade gives +25% damage.
Where to get them: the Dark Fragment is a guaranteed drop from Darkbeard in the Second Sea. Dragon Scales are the hard part: they drop only in the Third Sea, from the Dragon Crew Warriors and Archers on Hydra Island, and they are one of the most annoying materials because the enemies are far away and the drop chance is low. Magma Ore drops from Military Soldiers, Military Spies, the Magma General (formerly Magma Admiral), Magma Ninjas and Lava Pirates; the First Sea Military Soldiers have the least health, so they are the quickest to farm.
What are the best Bazooka combos?
These chains are rated Medium or Medium to Hard by players. They use only the Bazooka Z and X, never the normal attack.
Medium: Cyborg V3, Portal, Yama and Dragon Talon
- Keys: Cyborg V3 ability > Portal Z > Yama X > Bazooka X > Dragon Talon X > Dragon Talon Z
- Needs: Cyborg V3 ability, Portal, Yama, Dragon Talon; gun stats.
- Tip: This chain has to be done very fast. Flaring Missiles are the only Bazooka move in it, between the Yama hit and the two Dragon Talon moves.
Medium: Spikey Trident and Godhuman
- Keys: Bazooka Z > Spikey Trident X > Bazooka X > Godhuman Z > Godhuman C > Godhuman X
- Needs: Spikey Trident, Godhuman; gun stats.
- Tip: Heat Wave opens, Flaring Missiles follow, and Godhuman finishes.
Medium: Ice, Spikey Trident and Godhuman
- Keys: Ice V > Ice C (unawakened) > Bazooka X > Bazooka Z > Spikey Trident X > Godhuman X > Godhuman Z > Godhuman C
- Needs: Ice, Spikey Trident, Godhuman; gun stats.
- Tip: Use the unawakened Ice C.
Medium to Hard: Ice with both versions of its moves
- Keys: Bazooka X > Spikey Trident X > Spikey Trident Z > Bazooka Z > Ice C (unawakened) > Ice Z (awakened) > Godhuman X > Godhuman Z
- Needs: Ice, Spikey Trident, Godhuman; gun stats.
- Tip: This is an uncommon loadout and harder to use: Ice C is the unawakened version, Ice Z the awakened one.
Bazooka strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
General
- Good damage for a First Sea gun, and it is good for farming NPCs and bosses.
- Every move has a part that breaks Instinct (see the Break tab).
Normal Attack (M1)
- Very high normal-attack damage, with a long range.
- Can hit Sea Beasts, Ship Raids and the Leviathan.
Heat Wave (Z)
- The burning trail and end flames add extra damage.
Flaring Missiles (X)
- High damage and a long range, and the missiles seek a target inside their range.
Weaknesses
General
- Rubber users are immune, as with all guns.
- Lacks stun, so combos need another weapon or fruit to hold the target.
- Z and X need 100 and 250 mastery, which is high.
Normal Attack (M1)
- Long reload, and the slow rocket is easy to dodge.
Heat Wave (Z)
- Very low damage compared with the Z moves of other guns.
Flaring Missiles (X)
- The auto-aim is not guaranteed, and the missiles are hard to land on a target in mid-air.
Verdict
Pick the Bazooka if you want a First Sea gun with real damage for farming NPCs and bosses and can reach 250 mastery. Skip it if you fight Rubber users or need a gun that stuns for combos.
Bazooka tips and tricks
- Use X on grounded targets: the missiles seek a target in range but may not lock on, and a target in mid-air is hard to hit, so save them for an enemy on the ground.
- Do not rely on M1 against movers: the rocket is slow and easily dodged, so fire it at a target that is standing still or locked in place by another move.
- Farm planks with it: the Bazooka is a good pick for gathering Wooden Planks for repairing boats and building campfires when you do not own Skull Guitar.
- Dodge the rocket on the boss fight: the Sky Warlord fires the same rocket at you. Its explosion breaks Instinct, but the rocket itself can be dodged, so move rather than rely on Instinct.
What changed in the Bazooka updates?
The Bazooka arrived in Update 3, was reworked in Update 24 and got a new boss in Update 30, so older guides still list Alpha Wave, Incendiary Ammo and Wysper.
- Wysper, the boss that dropped the Bazooka, was replaced by the Sky Warlord. He has the same level and the same drop.
- The Bazooka was remodeled and reworked: Alpha Wave (Z) became Heat Wave and Incendiary Ammo (X) became Flaring Missiles.
- The Bazooka was added to the game.
