Shipwright is a subclass focused on boat maintenance, allowing the user to repair damaged boats during sea travel. It helps extend a boat’s lifespan by restoring its health instead of requiring the player to replace or respawn it.

Obtainment:

To obtain Shipwright, the player must find the Shipwright Teacher, whose location is locked behind a door. The door can only be opened after completing 50 Sea Events in total. Once the requirement is met, the player can start the Shipwright quest by speaking with the NPC. The quest requires the player to defeat 20 Sharks. After completing the task, the player receives a Legendary Scroll and can purchase the Shipwright subclass for 3,000 Fragments.

Leveling:
Shipwright gains experience by repairing boats using Wooden Planks, which are obtained by cutting down trees. Each successful repair can grant Subclass EXP, and earning enough EXP increases the subclass level. The maximum level for Shipwright is 26. Upgrading Shipwright abilities requires Fragments and Valor. Valor can only be obtained through Sea Events in the Third Sea.

Ship Minigame:
The Ship Minigame is a repair challenge that allows players to increase a boat’s maximum HP and is unlocked through the Hull Mechanic Shipwright ability. Players can access it by standing on the marked area of a boat while repairing, then timing their repair actions by releasing when the indicator reaches the target zone. Completing all 4 successful timings grants a higher repair reward and increases the boat’s max HP. The minigame can be repeated until the boat reaches its maximum HP limit, and the reward is applied after completing it once.

Tips:
Castle on the Sea, Port Town, and Hydra Island are useful locations for collecting Wooden Planks, as their spawn areas have multiple trees that can be destroyed quickly.

  • Abilities with large area coverage or long range are effective for farming Wooden Planks, including Skull Guitar [X] El Diablo, Skull Guitar [TAP] abilities, Bazooka, Cannon, Saber [Z] Deadly Rush, Shark Anchor [Z] Typhoon Toss, Awakened Dough, Buddha (awakened moves except [F] Retribution Dash), and Dragon [C] Scorching Downfall.

  • To level up Shipwright, players can use a high-health boat such as the Grand Brigade, allow Sharks to damage it, and repair the boat while it is being attacked.

  • Sharks deal 10 damage per hit, so players should manage their boat’s health carefully to avoid destroying it.

  • An alternative method is using Cyborg V3 to quickly reduce a boat’s max HP, allowing another player or account to damage the boat while the Shipwright user repairs it.

  • Shipwright EXP is gained based on the amount of HP restored, with 4 EXP gained per 1 HP healed.

  • Achieving a perfect score in the Ship Minigame doubles the ship HP reward, granting additional HP and max HP increases.
