Magma Blaster
Magma Blaster (formerly the Refined Musket) is a Rare gun shaped like a sawed-off double-barreled shotgun, with dark metal barrels, a red handle and glowing orange and yellow magma inside. It is the highest-damage gun in the game, and its normal attack hits every enemy in its path.
You win it from the Magma General (formerly Magma Admiral) at Magma Village on a 2% drop. It rewards close range: its normal attack hits harder the nearer the target is, and Magmatic Pressure needs a partner move to hold targets in place.

What moves does Magma Blaster have?
Open Moves for what each key does with a clip, Stats for mastery, cooldown and energy, and Break for Instinct. M1 is the normal attack.
Instinct is the dodge ability. A move that breaks it hits through the dodge.
Magma Blaster moves, mastery and Instinct
Fires a molten bullet that damages and knocks back every enemy in its way. The closer the enemy is to you, the harder it hits.
Fires a magma bullet with good range that explodes on impact or at its maximum range, scattering molten debris over a medium area. The debris vanishes shortly after.
Shoots a beam of magma with decent range that locks targets in place and pushes them away from you. You can hold it for up to 2.5 seconds. The stun is slight at best: enemies can still attack while it hits them.

How do you get the Magma Blaster?
The Magma Blaster is a boss drop: there is no shop and no recipe, only a 2% chance each time the Magma General is defeated.
Magma Blaster drop steps
Defeat the Magma General. He is a Lv. 350 boss with 14,750 HP that respawns every 8 minutes. He is stuck in the ground, so he cannot move, but he still uses the Magma fruit moves Magma Clap, Magma Fist and Magma Meteors (not this gun). Each defeat has a 2% chance to drop the Magma Blaster.

Go to Magma Village. The Magma General (formerly Magma Admiral) waits inside the volcano.

How do you upgrade the Magma Blaster, and what does it give?
Take the materials to a Blacksmith. A weapon can only be upgraded once, and you must upgrade it before you can enchant it. Full details are in the Upgrading guide.
Magma Blaster upgrade cost

The Blacksmith screen: the upgrade gives +20% damage.
Where to get them: Fish Tail drops in the First and Third Sea from Fishman Warriors, Fishman Commandos, Fishman Raiders, Fishman Captains and the Fishman Lord. Scrap Metal is the most common material in the game and drops from many enemies, such as Pirates, Brutes, Gladiators, Mercenaries and Marine Captains; Pirate Village with an area-damage fruit is a good place to farm it.
What are the best Magma Blaster combos?
These chains are rated Easy to Medium by players. Most open with a stun, because Magmatic Pressure barely stuns on its own.
Easy to Medium: Ice, a stun and Magma Blaster Z and X
- Keys: Stun (Ice V or Gravity Blade Z) > Ice C > Ice Z > Magma Blaster M1 > Magma Blaster Z > Magma Blaster X > Magma Blaster M1 > Ice X
- Needs: Ice, Gravity Blade (for the stun, if you do not use Ice V); Kitsune Ribbon for energy.
- Tip: This combo uses hybrid stats: 400 points in melee and 2800 each in health, fruit and gun (for level 2800 and up; spend the rest as you like).
Easy to Medium: Ice, Godhuman and a held Magmatic Pressure
- Keys: Stun (Ice V or Gravity Blade Z) > Ice C > Ice Z > Godhuman X > Godhuman C > Magma Blaster M1 > Magma Blaster X (hold) > Magma Blaster M1
- Needs: Ice, Gravity Blade, Godhuman; gun stats.
- Tip: This combo deals high damage, works on the ground and in the air, and hits multiple enemies.
Easy to Normal: Cursed Dual Katana and Dough
- Keys: Magma Blaster X > Magma Blaster Z > Cursed Dual Katana Z > Cursed Dual Katana X (tap) > Dough V > Dough C > Dough X (air) > Dough Z
- Needs: Cursed Dual Katana, Dough.
- Tip: Stats: 2600 melee, 2600 defense, 0 sword, 1300 gun and 1300 fruit.
Easy: Pain on NPCs
- Keys: Pain M1 (three times) > Magma Blaster M1 > Pain Z (hold) > Dash > Pain X

- Tip: This works best on NPCs and puts space between you and the enemy; the Pain Z, dash and Pain X ending is optional. A Coat or Pink Coat helps.

Magma Blaster strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
General
- Decent for grinding.
Normal Attack (M1)
- Good damage that rises as the enemy gets closer.
- Hits every enemy in its path, unlike most gun normal attacks.
Scorching Burst (Z)
- Good range and a medium area.
Magmatic Pressure (X)
- Extremely high damage and a decent range.
- Locks targets and pushes them away, and it breaks Instinct.
Weaknesses
General
- Rubber users are immune, as with all guns.
- Hard to hit.
- 75 and 200 mastery is high for a First Sea weapon.
Normal Attack (M1)
- Damage falls off with distance, and it never breaks Instinct.
Scorching Burst (Z)
- Easy to avoid in the air, with below-average damage.
- An Instinct user can dodge it unless it hits directly.
Magmatic Pressure (X)
- Easy to avoid, and almost no stun: enemies can still attack while it hits them.
Verdict
Pick the Magma Blaster if you want the gun with the highest damage and can fight close up with a stun from another move. Skip it for long-range fights, or if you do not have the patience for a boss drop.
Magma Blaster tips and tricks
- Fight close: M1 damage rises the nearer the target is and falls with distance, so step in before you fire.
- Bring a stun for X: Magmatic Pressure barely stuns, so most of the combos above open with Ice V, Gravity Blade Z or another stun before the Blaster moves.
- Use Z on grounded targets: Scorching Burst is easy to avoid in the air, so aim it at an enemy standing on the floor.
- Watch the lava at the boss: without the Magma fruit, the magma around the Magma General deals high damage, so stay off it while you farm the drop.
