Dual Flintlock

Dual Flintlock is a Rare gun from the First Sea and the upgraded version of the former Refined Flintlock. It is not a high-damage weapon and instead works as a utility-focused gun built for combo support and short control windows.

Its main strength is the X move, Bullet Storm, which delivers a sustained hit effect with a strong held stun. This makes it useful for creating openings and extending combos, especially in PvP where even a short stun can let you secure follow-up damage. When it connects cleanly, it can temporarily lock opponents in place long enough to turn a fight in your favor.

The weapon’s biggest weakness is its low damage output, which prevents it from being a reliable standalone option. On top of that, the X move has a long cooldown, making it inconsistent across longer fights and often limiting its impact to a single key moment per encounter. Because of this, its effectiveness depends heavily on timing rather than raw power.

Strengths & Weaknesses

A quick breakdown of where this build shines and struggles.

Strengths

  • Easy to obtain and very beginner-friendly, with low mastery requirements

  • Strong combo potential across all moves, making it useful for setup play

  • Good AoE coverage, allowing it to hit multiple enemies in fights or farming

  • All moves can break Instinct, improving PvP pressure

  • Dual Shots offers fast firing with two projectiles, increasing hit reliability and draining multiple dodges

  • Splitting Beam can pull enemies in, making it reliable for starting combos

  • Bullet Storm provides large AoE, high damage, and strong stun, making it the main finisher tool

Weaknesses

  • Rubber users are immune, limiting matchup consistency

  • Generally outclassed by Skull Guitar in overall utility and effectiveness

  • Dual Shots has small hitboxes, making it inconsistent at range

  • Splitting Beam suffers from a wonky hitbox and very limited vertical reach

  • Bullet Storm has a very long cooldown, making it unreliable in sustained fights and often a one-time tool

  • Edge hits of Bullet Storm do not fully stun, reducing its reliability in tight spacing situations

Verdict

A combo-oriented support gun that performs well in setups and early fights but loses value in longer battles due to inconsistent hitboxes and heavy cooldown reliance. Strong utility, but not a top-tier standalone weapon.
