Lightning ticks
34 in total
Combined with the 10% damage reduction of Cyborg V2, the two stack to 37%, short of the 40% you might expect. The lightning hits every enemy inside the field, so it suits crowds and opponents who stay near you.
How does Energy Core look?
Activating it sends a burst of purple lightning out of you. While it lasts, purple static surrounds you, lightning bolts keep flashing around you, purple energy coats your arms and torso and a pink energy crosshair spins in front of your face. On the left side of your chest sits a purple heart.

What are the strengths and weaknesses of Energy Core?
Strengths
- Breaks Instinct very well: the ticks keep landing on a target who stands close to you.
- The 30% defense is small, but it works as a mini stand-in for Water Body.
- It damages nearby enemies by itself, which makes it useful for passive grinding.
Verdict
A good pick at close range: for Instinct-breaking, for grinding and for finishing off enemies. It does little against anyone who keeps their distance, so pair it with something that closes the gap.
How do you get the most out of Energy Core?
- For hands-free grinding, stand among enemies and press T again each time the 30-second cooldown ends.
- A kill made with Energy Core alone earns no mastery. To level a fruit, gun, sword or fighting style, hit the NPC with it first and let the lightning finish the job: that weapon gets the mastery.
- The ticks scale with your level, not your stats, so a weapon with few stat points can still be leveled this way.
