Shizu

Shizu is a Legendary sword built around speed and precision. It excels at chaining attacks together with very little delay, allowing skilled players to create fast combo routes and maintain pressure in PvP. Its quick execution makes it especially effective for players who rely on timing, aim, and mechanical skill rather than large-area attacks.

The sword's main drawback is consistency. Its attacks have small hitboxes, making them harder to land against mobile opponents or players using Instinct. Missing key attacks can quickly break a combo, so Shizu demands accurate aim and good prediction to use effectively.

Because of these limitations, Shizu is most commonly seen in skill-focused PvP builds where experienced players can take full advantage of its speed. While highly rewarding in the right hands, it is less forgiving than many other swords and can be difficult for newer players to use reliably.

Obtainment:
Shizu can be purchased for $2,000,000 from the Legendary Sword Dealer in the Second Sea.

Obtaining it requires patience, as the Legendary Sword Dealer spawns infrequently. Each time he appears, he offers only one of the three Legendary Swords: Shizu, Saishi, or Oroshi. Because the dealer's inventory is random, players may need to find him multiple times before Shizu becomes available for purchase.

Strengths & Weaknesses

A quick breakdown of where this build shines and struggles.

Strengths

  • Fast attacks with very little endlag, making combos easier to extend.

  • Good damage output and strong combo potential in PvP.

  • Solid range overall, with one move reaching farther than its visual effects suggest.

  • Both moves can hit multiple targets and are effective against Sea Beasts.

  • Has some mobility utility for repositioning or chasing opponents.

  • Features a fast, long-range projectile that can pressure enemies from a distance.

Weaknesses

  • Cannot damage Blade users, limiting its effectiveness in certain matchups.

  • Small hitboxes make attacks difficult to land consistently.

  • Does not break Instinct, allowing opponents more opportunities to avoid attacks.

  • Requires good aim and timing, making it less forgiving than many other swords.

  • Long-range attacks can be predictable, especially against experienced players.

Verdict

Shizu is a high-skill PvP sword that rewards precision, fast reactions, and strong combo execution. It offers excellent speed and damage, but its small hitboxes and lack of Instinct breaking make it unreliable for inexperienced players. Best suited for skilled players who value combo potential over ease of use.
