Shark Saw

Shark Saw is an Uncommon sword often obtained by early game players and serves as a decent option for First Sea grinding. It offers reliable early progression for players using sword builds, especially before stronger weapons become available.

Its main value comes from being a practical early-game weapon with enough damage and utility to handle regular NPC farming. While it performs well during the early stages, its effectiveness drops as players progress and gain access to stronger swords with better damage, range, or utility.

Obtainment:
Obtain as a possible drop from defeating The Saw in Middle Town (First Sea) after dealing at least 10% boss damage; the boss spawns for 15 minutes every 1 hour 15 minutes.

Strengths & Weaknesses

A quick breakdown of where this build shines and struggles.

Strengths

  • Good for early-game grinding/farming thanks to low mastery requirements.

  • All moves apply stun, making enemies easier to control.

  • Has decent combo potential, especially for beginners.

  • Works fairly well with Blox Fruits Buddha due to the 4th M1 AoE slam.

  • [Z] Consecutive Slashes starts fast, can hit multiple targets, and works well as a combo extender.

  • [X] Execution is strong for farming and can start combos in First Sea.

Weaknesses

  • Cannot damage Blade users.

  • Low M1 damage, so basic attacks feel weak.

  • Overall short range on both skills.

  • Very limited mobility; only X move helps reposition, and it’s slow.

  • [Z] leaves you stuck briefly, making you punishable.

  • [X] slows movement and locks you in until the animation ends.

Verdict

Shark Saw is a solid beginner sword for First Sea with useful stun and combo utility, especially for farming. However, its short range, low M1 damage, and self-locking moves make it fall off quickly. Good early on, but replace it once better options are available.
