Iron Mace
Iron Mace is an Uncommon sword from the First Sea: a spiked mace sold in Pirate Village for $25,000. It slams on the third M1, smashes the ground with Z, and chains hits with X. Both moves break Instinct and the set opens by 30 mastery.
It is built for close-range grinding at low levels. The damage is low and you have no way to move quickly, so most players outgrow it.

What moves does Iron Mace have?
Open Moves for what each key does with a clip, Stats for the mastery you need to unlock each move, plus cooldown, and Break for Instinct.
Instinct is the dodge ability. A move that breaks it hits through the dodge and switches Instinct off for about 5 seconds.

Two swipes, then a slam on the third. The hitbox is large when you tap.
Smashes the mace into the ground. The shockwave damages nearby enemies, knocks them back and leaves three deep cuts in the floor. It needs decent aim and does not work in the air.
Swings the mace over and over in front of you, hitting enemies several times with a large area. It is extremely poor in the air.

Iron Mace strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
General
- Affordable at $25,000, with low mastery needs.
- A good fit for grinding at low levels.
Normal Attack
- Large hitbox when you tap.
Mace Smash (Z)
- Decent knockback.
Killer Combo (X)
- Large area of effect.
Weaknesses
General
- Cannot hit players using the Blade fruit.
- Low damage, and less useful for grinding at higher levels.
- Close range only, so enemies with long-range abilities outplay it.
- No mobility, and weak in the air.
Mace Smash (Z)
- Needs decent aim.
Killer Combo (X)
- Only hits enemies in front of you, so you have to face them.
Verdict
Iron Mace is a solid pick for the first levels of grinding. Its damage is low, so move on when your level climbs.
Iron Mace tips and tricks
- Stay on the ground: Mace Smash does not work in the air and Killer Combo is extremely poor there, so fight with your feet planted.
- Aim Mace Smash before you press: it needs decent aim, so line it up with the group first.
- Tap M1 on groups: the tap hitbox is large and the third hit slams, so it is a fair way to clear low-level enemies.
- Close the gap first: it has no mobility and works close in, so against long-range users close the distance before you commit.
