Pipe
Pipe is a Rare sword in the First Sea. You buy it for $100,000 in Frozen Village. Z is a dash that stuns and bursts into a dragon-head flame, and X fires a dragon-shaped fireball that drags enemies along.
Damage is decent, and the fire moves do most of the work.

What moves does Pipe have?
Open Moves for what each key does with a clip, Stats for the mastery you need to unlock each move, plus cooldown and energy, and Break for Instinct.
Instinct is the dodge ability. A move that breaks it hits through the dodge and switches Instinct off for about 5 seconds.

A short, quick dash with two outcomes. If it hits, you stun the enemy, gather flames into a dragon head and blow it up for damage and embers. If it misses, you just spit embers that deal low damage. It is a fast mobility move over a short distance and is easy to dodge.

How do you get Pipe?
Pipe is a shop item, not a drop.
- Where: the Sword Dealer of the East in the middle of Frozen Village, near one of the huts.
- Price: $100,000.
- Also sold there: the Triple Katana, for $60,000.

How do you upgrade Pipe, and what does it give?
Take the materials to a Blacksmith in Pirate Village, Kingdom of Rose or Port Town. A weapon can only be upgraded once, and you must upgrade it before you can enchant it. Full details are in the Upgrading guide. The upgrade gives +25% damage. Scrap Metal drops from ordinary enemies such as Pirates and Brutes.

What are the best Pipe combos?
Easiest first. The first two chains use the sword alone.
Very easy: Pipe on its own
- Keys: Pipe Z > Pipe X
- Needs: Only the sword.
- Tip: Z has to hit for its stun, and X follows.
Easy: aim under the enemy
- Keys: Pipe X (aimed under the enemy) > Pipe Z
- Needs: Only the sword.
- Tip: Aim the Dragon Blast under the target, then dash in with Z.
Easy: Electric or Dark Step opener
Easy: Sharkman Karate
- Keys: Pipe Z > Sharkman Karate X > Sharkman Karate Z > Pipe X > Sharkman Karate C
- Needs: The Sharkman Karate fighting style.
- Tip: Speed matters: the Sharkman Karate X and Z, Pipe X and Sharkman Karate C all have to come out quickly.
Medium: Ice
- Keys: Ice V > Pipe Z > Ice C > Ice Z > Pipe X > Ice X
- Needs: The Ice fruit.
- Tip: Ice does the setup and the closing move, with Pipe Z and X in between.

Strengths
General
- Decent damage, and the whole kit is open by 50 mastery.
Pipe Ignition (Z)
- Fast mobility over a short distance.
- Some combo potential.
Dragon Blast (X)
- Long range, and it drags enemies along and hits several at once.
- Effective for farming.
Weaknesses
General
- Cannot hit players using the Blade fruit.
- The M1 swings slowly.
Pipe Ignition (Z)
- Easy to dodge, with a short reach.
Dragon Blast (X)
- Can be dodged, and is useless in the air.
Verdict
Pipe suits players who want a stun-and-burst dash and a ranged fireball. Skip it if you need to break Instinct, since neither move does.
Pipe tips and tricks
- Commit Z only when it will connect: on a hit it stuns and bursts, but on a miss you only get weak embers and spend a cooldown.
- Use X to farm: it drags enemies together, so aim it at a group and let the burst burn them.
- Collect Fish Tail early: the upgrade needs 12, and Fishman Warriors and the other Fishman enemies drop it.
