Rengoku
Rengoku is a Legendary sword from the Second Sea, and one of the strongest swords there. You unlock it with a Hidden Key on a hidden chest in the Ice Castle, and its two moves are a flaming dash (Z) and a flame slash that you can tap or hold (X).
It deals extremely high damage with burn, and its Z can stun Blade users. The cost is the key: it is a rare drop, so most players farm for it.

What moves does Rengoku have?

Three slashes, then a lunge on the fourth.
Dashes forward and leaves a trail of orange and red flames. If it hits an enemy, you cut them rapidly and end with three fire slashes that deal tick damage and burn for around 2 seconds.
Tap: releases a horizontal slash of flame that leaves a flame trail on the ground. A hit damages the enemy and burns them with tick damage over time.

How do you get Rengoku?
Rengoku is not dropped or sold: you open a hidden chest in the Ice Castle with a Hidden Key.
- Step 1, get a key: fight in the Ice Castle (enemies level 1350 to 1425). The Awakened Ice Admiral is a level 1400 boss with 47,000 HP that respawns every 20 minutes, and he drops the Hidden Key at 5%. His quest comes from the Frost Quest Giver. Snow Lurkers and Arctic Warriors drop it at 0.5% to 1%.
- Boost the odds: the 2x Boss Drops Chance game pass doubles your chance at the key.
- Step 2, use it before you log off: a key from these enemies is not saved if you leave the game, so go straight to the chest.
- Step 3, the chest: go under the staircase where the Awakened Ice Admiral spawns. The entrance is to the right. Through the wall is a black chest with a keyhole. Use the key and the chest gives you Rengoku. The chest works once.
- Bonus: equipping Rengoku gives you the "Samurai" title, number 131.
- Heads up: high-level players often visit the Ice Castle for the key, so watch for PvP while you grind.

What are the best Rengoku combos?
Easiest first. Each chain puts a fruit or fighting style around Rengoku's X and Z.
Easy: stun, Rengoku and Sanguine Art
- Keys: Any stun move > Rengoku X (tap) > Sanguine Art Z > Sanguine Art C > Sanguine Art X > Rengoku Z
- Needs: Sanguine Art and a stun move to open.
- Tip: A one-shot chain. Tap Burning Slash rather than holding it.
Easy: Kabucha and Godhuman
Easy: awakened Ice and Godhuman
- Keys: Ice V > Ice C > Rengoku X > Rengoku Z > Godhuman Z > Godhuman C > Godhuman X (tap)
- Needs: Awakened Ice and Godhuman.
- Tip: This chain one-shots a Training Dummy.
Easy to medium: Dark and Godhuman
- Keys: Dark C > Rengoku X > Dark X > Godhuman X > Godhuman Z > Godhuman C > Rengoku Z
- Needs: Dark and Godhuman.
- Tip: The hardest of the four.
Rengoku strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
General
- Extremely high damage and good combo potential.
- Good knockback, which helps in PvP.
- Very fast burst damage, so Shark and Cyborg race users take a lot before they can turn their race ability on.
Demon Slayer (Z)
- A very fast dash with almost no end lag, and good range.
- Deals damage over time, and the damage lands as long as the target was caught in the dash (unless they dodge it with Instinct).
- Can stun Blade users, even though the sword cannot damage them.
Burning Slash (X)
- The held version has a decent area, and the move has no end lag.
Weaknesses
General
- Cannot damage Blade users.
- The Hidden Key is a low-chance drop.
- Bad for fighting in water.
- Hard to grind with, because the fourth slash of the M1 dashes.
- High mastery: Burning Slash needs 350.
Burning Slash (X)
- Its flame trail is easy to dodge if the target is not stunned.
- It has no burn area when used in the air, which makes both versions much harder to hit.
Verdict
Get Rengoku if you are in the Second Sea and want a hard-hitting sword that stuns Blade users, and you can put in the time for a Hidden Key. Skip it if you mostly fight in water or want an easy grinding sword.
Rengoku tips and tricks
- Tap X in chains: the chains below that name a version all tap it, and holding it lets the enemy escape.
- Watch the floor with Z: it can sometimes glitch you out of the map where the floor is thin, such as Kingdom of Rose.
- Stun before X: its flame trail is easy to dodge on a target that is not stunned, so open with a stun.
