Hidden Key
The Hidden Key is a Second Sea quest item. It is required for players progressing through the Ice Castle questline Since the key is consumed through progression rather than kept as a permanent collectible, its value comes entirely from advancing this part of the game's content.
Obtainment:
The Hidden Key has a 5% chance to drop from the Awakened Ice Admiral, making him the most reliable source for farming it. It can also drop at a much lower rate from both Snow Lurkers and Arctic Warriors found throughout the Ice Castle, although farming these enemies is generally less efficient due to their significantly lower drop chance. Players looking to obtain the key quickly are usually better off repeatedly defeating the Awakened Ice Admiral whenever possible.
Usage:
The Hidden Key is used to unlock the chest containing the Rengoku sword beneath the staircase in the Ice Castle. While the hidden passage can be entered at any time, the chest can only be opened if the player has the Hidden Key and has not already obtained Rengoku. Once the sword has been claimed, the key is no longer needed for future access to the area.

• The Hidden Key's drop chance is doubled with the 2X Drop Gamepass, making it much easier to farm.
• The Library Key has a significantly higher drop chance than the Hidden Key, making the Hidden Key the rarer of the two.
• The Hidden Key can still be obtained in Dungeons.
• After obtaining and equipping Rengoku, the player is awarded the "Samurai" title.
• The secret passage beneath the staircase contains the black chest holding Rengoku. While the passage can always be entered, the chest can only be opened with the Hidden Key if the player has not already obtained the sword.
• The black chest is a one time reward. After it has been opened and Rengoku has been claimed, the chest permanently disappears for that player and cannot be used again.
