Dragon Trident
Dragon Trident is a Rare sword from the Second Sea, dropped by the Tide Keeper on Forgotten Island. Z shoves enemies away with a water dragon, and X drops a whirlpool that nearly stuns them.
Players use it to open and support combos with a fruit or fighting style, not for raw damage.

What moves does Dragon Trident have?
Open Moves for what each key does with a clip, Stats for the mastery you need to unlock each move, plus cooldown and energy, and Break for Instinct.
Instinct is the dodge ability. A move that breaks it hits through the dodge and switches Instinct off for about 5 seconds.

How do you get Dragon Trident?
Dragon Trident is a boss drop, not a shop item. Expect to fight the Tide Keeper more than once.
- Where: Forgotten Island in the Second Sea. The Tide Keeper stands on a platform behind the main part of the island.
- The boss: level 1475 with 107,540 HP, back after 30 minutes. His quest, from the Forgotten Quest Giver, pays 12,500 Beli and 51,000,000 EXP.
- His attacks: he uses the old Dragon Trident moves, Sea Dragon Fury and Water Dragon Prison, and can call up a Sea Beast with 20,000 HP that gives no rewards. If the Sea Beast becomes a problem, reset your character: it despawns and the Tide Keeper does not heal.
- The drop: the Tide Keeper can also drop the Water Key.

How do you upgrade Dragon Trident, and what does it give?
Take the materials to a Blacksmith. A weapon can only be upgraded once, and you must upgrade it before you can enchant it. Full details are in the Upgrading guide. The upgrade gives +8% damage. Dragon Scale is a Rare material that drops from the Dragon Crew Warriors and Dragon Crew Archers of Hydra Island in the Third Sea.

What are the best Dragon Trident combos?
All four chains use Dragon Trident X as the opener, and a fruit or fighting style does most of the damage.
Easy: Godhuman between the two Trident moves
- Keys: Dragon Trident X > Godhuman X > Godhuman Z > Godhuman C > Dragon Trident Z
- Needs: Godhuman.
- Tip: One of the simplest Dragon Trident chains. X nearly stuns the target for the Godhuman moves, then Z pushes them away to finish.
Easy: Dark and Sanguine Art
- Keys: Dragon Trident X > Dragon Trident Z > Dark C > Dark X (hold) > Sanguine Art Z > Sanguine Art C > Sanguine Art X > Dark Z > Dark V (hold, optional)
- Needs: Dark and Sanguine Art.
- Tip: X nearly stuns the target and Z shoves it away, then Dark C and the Sanguine Art moves follow.
Easy: Light and Sanguine Art
- Keys: Dragon Trident X > Light V > Sanguine Art Z > Sanguine Art C > Sanguine Art X > Light C > Light Z
- Needs: Light and Sanguine Art.
- Tip: Light V does its damage in ticks, so X stuns the target first and the ticks keep landing while Sanguine Art follows.
Easy: Portal into Godhuman
Dragon Trident strengths and weaknesses
Strengths
General
- A big hitbox compared to other swords, with good range.
- Great combo potential, and a strong support weapon.
- The lunge on the fourth M1 swing gives a short burst of movement.
Sea Dragon Fury (Z)
- A wide hit that is fairly easy to land.
- High knockback, handy against players in Buddha form in PvP.
Water Dragon Shower (X)
- Needs little aiming.
- A good way to start a combo.
Weaknesses
General
- Cannot damage players using the Blade fruit.
- Low damage, and X needs 350 mastery, more than most Rare swords.
- Neither Z nor X carries you, so apart from the M1 lunge you cannot chase or escape with it.
- The fourth M1 swing dashes forward, which makes it awkward to auto-click.
Sea Dragon Fury (Z)
- High knockback pushes enemies away, which is bad for grinding.
Water Dragon Shower (X)
- Useless on the water, because the shower lands beneath the sea.
- Its area and stun were cut hard in Update 26.
Verdict
Pick Dragon Trident if you want a support sword that opens combos with a near-stun from X. Skip it for pure damage or grinding: damage is low and Z pushes enemies off.
Dragon Trident tips and tricks
- Open with X: it nearly stuns, so the target is easy to follow up. Use Z afterwards to finish.
- Use the M1 lunge in the air: the fourth swing carries you very far when you use it in mid-air.
- Hit airborne players from a distance: X cannot hit a player in the air if you stand too close.

What changed in the Dragon Trident updates?
Guides from before Update 26 describe a bigger, longer-stunning Water Dragon Shower than the one in the game today.
