Longsword
Longsword is a Rare sword from the Second Sea, dropped by the boss Diamond in Kingdom of Rose. It has two moves, a dash with a green slash (Z) and a leaping slam (X).
It is strong for combos, and both moves hit an area. Damage is low for a Rare sword.

What moves does Longsword have?
Open Moves for what each key does with a clip, Stats for the mastery you need to unlock each move, plus cooldown, and Break for Instinct.
Instinct is the dodge ability. A move that breaks it hits through the dodge and switches Instinct off for about 5 seconds.

Dashes toward the cursor, then sends out a green slash that damages enemies and grows temporary grass when it flies close to a surface. An enemy caught by the dash is briefly stunned, takes some extra damage and is knocked back a fair way.

How do you get Longsword?
Longsword is a boss drop, not a shop item. Diamond is the boss, not the Diamond fruit.
- Where: the sunflower hill near the Cafe in Kingdom of Rose, in the Second Sea.
- The boss: Diamond is level 750 with 34,750 HP, back after 15 minutes. His quest, from the Area 1 Quest Giver, pays 25,000 Beli and 12,500,000 EXP.
- His attacks: he fights with the old Longsword moves. Annihilate is a rapid slash around him that stuns, Glorious Smash teleports him close and slams, and he fires a thin air slash. Side-dash or air jump to avoid the last two.
- The drop: Longsword is one of his possible drops, so plan on repeat kills. His own sword looks like a Cutlass, but Longsword is what he can drop.

How do you upgrade Longsword, and what does it give?
Take the materials to a Blacksmith. A weapon can only be upgraded once, and you must upgrade it before you can enchant it. Full details are in the Upgrading guide. The upgrade gives +23% damage.

What are the best Longsword combos?
Easiest first. Each chain adds one or two Longsword moves to a fighting-style chain.
Easy: Longsword X into Dark Step X
- Keys: Longsword X > Dark Step X
- Needs: Dark Step.
- Tip: A two-move extender and the shortest chain here. Use it to add damage after a Longsword slam.
Easy: Electric Claw
- Keys: Electric Claw C > Electric Claw Z > Longsword Z > Longsword X (aim down) > Electric Claw X
- Needs: Electric Claw.
- Tip: It will not one-shot a player unless the Longsword is upgraded.
Medium to hard: Dragon Talon and Dough
- Keys: Dragon Talon X > Longsword Z > Dough V > Dragon Talon Z > Dough X > Flash Step > Longsword X > Dragon Talon C
- Needs: Dragon Talon, Dough and Flash Step.
- Tip: Dough X needs a decent Flash Step speed, and the Human race is the recommended pick for it.

General
- High combo potential.
- Both moves cover an area, which makes it decent for farming.
- Low mastery needs and easy to obtain.
Annihilate (Z)
- A decent knockback, and a stun when the dash connects.
Glorious Smash (X)
- Works as travel and a short-range Flash Step.
- An aim marker helps you land it.

- Cannot damage players using the Blade fruit.
- Damage is low next to other Rare swords.

- On the underwater island, using X can drop you into the sea (a known bug).
Verdict
Pick Longsword if you want a Second Sea sword with low mastery needs for combos and for farming groups. Skip it if you need raw damage, since it hits softer than other Rare swords.
Longsword tips and tricks
- Use X for position: its leap and aim marker can close a gap or reposition you, then the follow-up comes from your style.
- Do not count on Z in a pinch: its range is close, so use it once the target is next to you.
- Radioactive Material: it drops from Cores, Factory Staff (a very low chance) and dungeons, so Cores are the surest source.
