Cursed Dual Katana (Puzzle)
The Cursed Dual Katana Puzzle is a challenging quest in the Third Sea that rewards players with the Cursed Dual Katana (CDK). Players must complete a series of trials for both Yama and Tushita, then defeat the Cursed Skeleton Boss.
Note: Players who already own both Yama and Tushita can open the puzzle building, but they must still meet the following level and mastery requirements to read the scrolls.
Requirements
Before starting the puzzle, players must have:
Level 2200+
350+ Mastery on Yama
350+ Mastery on Tushita
Both Yama and Tushita obtained
If these requirements are not met, the scroll will display:
"The inscription is too hard to read..."
How to Complete the Cursed Dual Katana Puzzle
Step 1 – Enter the Crypt
Speak to the Crypt Master, located beside the large stone building behind the Mansion.
Choose to enter the crypt.
Enter the room containing the Yama Scroll and Tushita Scroll.
Equip the sword that matches the scroll before starting the respective trials.
Note: Only one trial can be active at a time.
Each completed trial rewards 1 Alucard Fragment.
Location
Step 2 – Complete the Scroll Trials
Yama Scroll
Trial 1 – Pain and Suffering
Equip Yama.
Receive approximately 8,000–10,000 damage from enemies or players.
Continue trying if it doesn't trigger immediately.
Trial 2 – Haze of Misery
Your screen will become covered in fog.
Defeat every NPC marked with a purple aura.
Purple marks are visible through walls.
Some islands contain multiple marked NPC groups.
Ghosts inside the Secret Temple may also be marked.
Progress is lost if you leave the server.
Trial 3 – Fear the Reaper
Summon the Soul Reaper using a Hallow Essence.
Let the Soul Reaper defeat you.
You will be teleported to the Hell Dimension.
Inside the Hell Dimension:
Light all three torches.
Defeat every enemy that appears.
Defeat Hell's Messenger.
Enter the opened gate to return.
After completion:
"The scroll has reacted to your achievements."
Interact with the scroll again to burn it.
Note: If multiple players are present, only the first player killed by the Soul Reaper enters the Hell Dimension.
Tushita Scroll
Trial 1 – Docks Legend
Visit three different Boat Dealers or Luxury Boat Dealers on different islands.
At each one:
Navigate to the final dialogue page.
Select "Pardon me."
Trial 2 – Sense of Duty
Participate in a Pirate Raid at the Castle on the Sea.
Defeat at least one raid enemy.
The Alucard Fragment is awarded after the raid ends.
Trial 3 – Soulless
Attack the Cake Queen once.
A 2-minute timer begins.
Defeat the Cake Queen before the timer expires to enter the Heaven Dimension.
Inside the Heaven Dimension:
Light every torch.
Defeat all enemies that spawn.
Defeat Heaven's Guardian.
Enter the opened gate.
The scroll will react and burn after interacting with it again.
Step 3 – Obtain the Cursed Dual Katana
After both scrolls have burned:
Interact with the pedestal.
The following message will appear:
"The 6 shards of the mythical Alucard Gem react, forming the gem anew."
The room will change:
The door closes.
The Alucard Gem reforms.
A hidden wall opens.
The Level 2025 Cursed Skeleton Boss appears.
Defeat the boss using only Yama or Tushita.
Upon defeat, you will receive:
Cursed Dual Katana (100% Drop Chance)
Several Cursed Skeletons will spawn afterward.

Yama Scroll Tips
Pain and Suffering
Always keep Yama equipped.
Let enemies repeatedly attack until the trial completes.
Haze of Misery
Advanced Instinct helps locate marked enemies through the fog.
Portal, Light Flight, speed accessories, or the Submarine greatly reduce travel time.
Some islands may need to be revisited because multiple NPC groups can be marked.
Not every island will contain marked enemies.
Fear the Reaper
Farm Bones by defeating Possessed Mummies.
Exchange Bones with the Death King to obtain Hallow Essence faster.
Teaming with other players increases the chance of encountering the Soul Reaper.
Avoid excessive knockback attacks during the boss fight.
Tushita Scroll Tips
Docks Legend
Use Portal, Pilot Helmet, Hunter Cape, or the Submarine to travel between islands quickly.
Remember to select "Pardon me" instead of simply purchasing a boat.
Sense of Duty
Join a quieter server to increase your chances of getting a kill.
Only one defeated Pirate Raid enemy is required.
High-damage moves such as Godhuman's Sixth Realm Gun work well for securing a kill.
Soulless
Bring other players if your damage is low.
You may let others weaken the Cake Queen before delivering the final hit.
Preserve your health before entering the Heaven Dimension, as another battle immediately follows.
You can pause before lighting the torches to recover health if needed.
