The 2D Kitty is a legendary pet in Adopt Me, drawn as a black-and-white sketch of a cat. It first appeared on April 1, 2021 as an April Fools event pet and came back as a Legendary on December 16, 2025 with the weekly 2D Tuesday event. You can still get one: earn a free 2D Box on 2D Tuesday, which has a 1.5% chance of holding a permanent 2D Kitty, or trade for one.

How do you get the 2D Kitty?
2D Box
Open a 2D Box, which you earn during 2D Tuesday, or trade for a 2D Kitty.
Play 2D Tuesday. It runs every Tuesday from 12 to 1 AM, 8 to 9 AM and 4 to 5 PM Pacific Standard Time. Everyone receives a temporary, fully grown 2D Kitty at friendship level 1, with 2x Bucks and XP while the event lasts. It stays in your inventory until you leave the server.
Complete 20 needs on the temporary 2D Kitty. The task shows up on the Task Board once for the whole Tuesday and pays one 2D Box, so you can earn one box a week. Opening it gives a permanent 2D Kitty at a 1.5% chance.
Trade for one on Adopt Me's trading system; Ultra-Rare and Legendary items need the Trade License (at the Safety Hub).

2D Kitty history
- New items joined the 2D Box, among them the 2D Doggy, a second 2D-style Legendary pet.
- The 2D Kitty came back with the Legendary rarity, together with the weekly 2D Tuesday event and the 2D Box.
- The event 2D Kitty left the game and disappeared from players' inventories.
- Given out free by Burt near the Nursery in the April Fools Day 2021 Update, with the event rarity.

2D Doggy
The other pet with a 2D style and frame-by-frame animation. It is Legendary, was released on July 20, 2026 and also comes from the 2D Box at a 1.5% chance.
