Pirates
Pirates
Pirates is one of the two playable teams and is the only team that earns Bounty, while the Marines earn Honor instead. Players who choose Pirates generally gain Bounty more easily, making this the preferred team for those who want to increase their Bounty through regular gameplay.
Overview:
Choosing the Pirates team displays your Bounty on the leaderboard, which acts as your reputation score. Bounty is earned by defeating bosses and players within the allowed level range, preventing high-level players from farming much weaker opponents. Once you reach 2.5 million Bounty, bosses no longer award additional Bounty, making PvP the primary way to continue progressing. Many Pirate players focus on Bounty Hunting to climb the leaderboards, and forming or joining a crew can help you earn Bounty while competing for a place on the top 10 leaderboard. Pirates are also the more popular team on most servers, so PvP encounters are generally more common than for Marines. Keep in mind that dying to a player or a boss reduces your Bounty. You can only gain Bounty from another player if their level is within 25% below or about 33% above your own level. For example, a Level 2800 player can only earn Bounty by defeating players who are at least Level 2100.
Advantages:
Compared to the Marines, the Pirates team offers greater freedom in PvP, allowing you to attack other Pirates without team restrictions. Pirates can also create a crew once they reach Level 300, making it possible to team up with other players and compete on the crew leaderboards. In addition, Pirates earn more Bounty from defeating players of a similar level, making them the better choice for players focused on Bounty Hunting and PvP progression.
Disadvantages:
Compared to the Marines, the Pirates team has a few drawbacks. Ships cost more, Pirate ships are slower, and Pirates are not automatically allied with one another, meaning other Pirate players can freely attack you unless you are working together.
More Info:
If a Pirate equips the Vice Admiral's Coat, obtained from defeating the Vice Admiral at the Marine Fortress, the Coat will appear with a logo resembling that of Greybeard's coat and red sleeves.
Upon reaching a certain amount of Bounty, you will earn Titles for it (Second sea and Third sea only).
Upon reaching 2.5M Bounty, the player will no longer get Bounty from killing Bosses. The same goes for Marines, but with Honor.
Pirates cannot start a quest to defeat the player with a bounty by clicking on their wanted poster, unlike marines.
The NPC who represents the team is the Pirate, who can be found at Pirate Village, in First Sea.
The user can obtain two different titles after obtaining a certain amount of Bounty for each respective bounty amount.
At 5m Bounty/5m Honor, the user obtains the "Pirate Hunter" and "Bounty Hunter" titles #019 and #020 respectively.
At 10m Bounty, the user obtains the "Warlord of the Sea" title #021.
At 20m Bounty, the user obtains the "Emperor of the Sea" and "Empress of the Sea" titles #022 and #023 respectively.
