Rough Sea
Rough Sea is a random Sea Event that can spawn in both the Second Sea and Third Sea at any Sea Danger Level, from Level 1 (Low) to Level 6 (????). Unlike many other sea events, it does not require a boat to spawn. When it appears, it clears nearby rocks, darkens the surrounding area, and creates lightning strikes that can damage both players and boats. Sharks and Piranhas may also spawn during the event and will actively target nearby players, making the area significantly more dangerous while exploring or traveling.
Additional Information:
It is not recommended to hunt Sea Beasts, do Ship Raids, or participate in other Sea Events while inside the Rough Sea, as the darkness, poor visibility, and constant lightning make combat much more difficult.
Use a fast and durable boat, such as the Lantern or Guardian, when traveling through the Rough Sea. Each lightning strike deals 15 to 20 damage to boats, and there is a known bug where lightning can knock players off boat seats.
Terrorsharks, Sharks, and Piranhas can all be encountered in the Rough Sea, making it even more dangerous.
The lightning only targets players, automatically locks onto them, and briefly knocks them down and immobilizes them. It cannot be avoided normally, but Instinct can dodge the strike, making it highly recommended to keep Instinct active while navigating the area.
Rubber and Lightning users still take damage from the Rough Sea's lightning despite their elemental themes.
During nighttime, especially at Sea Danger Level 6 (????), visibility becomes extremely poor, making distant objects nearly impossible to see.
To cancel the Rough Sea, leave your boat and move far enough away until the Sea Danger Meter disappears.
Players can obtain Pole (2nd Form) during this event.
The community generally considers the Rough Sea to be one of the most frustrating Sea Events due to how much it hinders exploration and combat.
